Empowering Young Minds for the 21st Century

At Tadika Sri UCSI, we go beyond academics to nurture future-ready learners. Our child-centred approach develops not only knowledge but also the key 21st-century competencies essential for lifelong success: Critical Thinking, Creativity, Communication, Collaboration and Character.

From trilingual literacy to early numeracy and basic financial concepts, we offer a well-rounded programme grounded in global best practices.

Each week brings new and exciting opportunities for growth through our signature initiatives:

Nursery

Our nursery programme supports children aged 3 to 4 during their most critical stage of development. Inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, we view children as capable and curious learners. Learning is guided through project-based, child-led inquiry that sparks creativity and critical thinking.

Our environment is thoughtfully designed to reflect Reggio Emilia principles – which features natural light, connections with nature and spaces for expression through art and play.

Led by experienced early years educators, the programme nurtures confidence, independence and a love for learning, preparing children for a smooth transition into kindergarten.

Kindergarten (Kinder)

Our kinder programme supports children aged 4 to 5 as they begin to develop greater independence. At Tadika Sri UCSI, we encourage this growth through a balance of structured and exploratory learning experiences.

The programme focuses on key areas of early development, including:

Children engage in hands-on activities that connect learning to real-life experiences. One such example is our STEM Lab, where educators introduce basic concepts of mathematics and science in a fun and practical way to deepen engagement.

Classes are intentionally kept small, with a maximum of 15 students per class, to ensure personalised attention and a nurturing environment for both individual and group learning.

Pre-primary (PREP)

Our PREP programme is designed for 6-year-olds at a pivotal stage of preparing for primary school. Rooted in Reggio Emilia principles, the learning environment encourages exploration, creativity and expression through hands-on experiences and natural materials, nurturing both academic readiness and a strong sense of self.

The curriculum focuses on cognitive development, language and literacy, and early numeracy through real-world applications. Money Smart introduces basic financial literacy, while Brave Speakers builds confidence and communication skills through guided expression and public speaking. With positive guidance and a supportive environment, children are empowered to grow into confident, independent learners ready for the next stage.

Our Learning Pillars

Reggio Emilia Inspired Philosophy

Our approach is inspired by the world-renowned Reggio Emilia philosophy, which views children as capable, curious and full of potential.

Core Principles:

Half Day(Core) Programme

Full Day (Enrichment) Programme

Extended (CarePlus) Programme

At Sri UCSI Early Years Centre, we focus on three key areas of development:

Personal, Social and Emotional Development

  • To develop a positive sense of themselves and others
  • To form positive relationships and developing respect for others
  • To develop social skills and learning how to manage their feelings
  • To understand appropriate behaviour in groups
  • To develop confidence in their abilities.

Physical
Development

  • To develop coordination, control, and movement
  • To understand the importance of physical activity
  • To make healthy choices about food
  • To be independent and manage their hygiene

Communication and
Language

  • To develop confidence and skills in expressing themselves
  • To learn to speak and listen in a range of situations
  • To interact collaboratively with peers and familiar adults
  • To learn how to negotiate plans and develop talk through play, using language to recreate and imagine experiences

Our Early Years programme has clearly defined learning areas and objectives apart from personal, social and emotional development. The four specific areas include:

English

The child starts to link letters and sounds, explore texts and poetry, and begin their reading, writing and literacy journey. They develop reading and writing skills as they explore, enjoy, learn about, use words and texts in a broad range of contexts. They are also expected to able to read and understand sentences, use phonic knowledge to decode regular words, as well as read-aloud accurately. Using their phonic knowledge, they can write words in ways that match their spoken words.

Mathematics

The child starts to develop skills in counting, understanding and using numbers, calculating simple addition and subtraction problems, as well as describing shapes, spaces and measures. Activities and hands-on experiences facilitate children to explore the real-life of Mathematics and enable them to apply their mathematical thinking in a relevant way, equipping them with a solid mathematical foundation upon which all subsequent learning will be built.

Understanding the World

The child starts to make sense of the physical world and their community. We guide children to make sense of their physical world and their community through opportunities to explore, observe and find out about people, places, technology and environment. They can observe and compare, talk about changes they see and begin to develop creative and critical thinking skills.

Expressive Arts and Design

The child starts to express and explore a wide range of media and materials. They can share their thoughts, ideas and feelings through a variety of activities in arts, movement, dance, role-play, as well as design and technology.

At Sri UCSI Early Years Centre, we go further than the prescribed curriculum by offering additional elements in learning such as phonics lessons to encourage independent reading and writing. We also offer Mandarin, Bahasa Melayu and basic ICT Literacy lessons in the Early Years.

Thematic Integrated Approach

We would like to make the child’s learning to be more meaningful. Therefore, we connect all learning process that takes place via a unit of learning or theme. All the activities and lessons in the class will be centred around themes that they find interesting and relevant. Examples of these themes include About Myself, Living Things, Physical Science, Transportations, Animals and Occupations.

Teaching thematically helps children to make sense of what they are being taught, since content areas are integrated and not made to stand alone. Students can retain more information when it is not presented as isolated facts, but rather as part of a whole. Thematic units encourage the involvement of all students through topics relevant to them. Children can relate to real-world experiences and build on prior knowledge of a topic.
