Bring Your Own Utensils
In Sri UCSI Subang Jaya, we believe that we need to do more than just giving monetary support and organising some one-off events in our effort to conserve the environment. With this in mind, our secondary division started the Bring Your Own (BYO) campaign in 2018 and our students were made to be more aware and conscious of the harm plastics waste can bring to our oceans, the marine life and the world at large.
After the BYO campaign in 2018 the secondary division has said “NO” to single-use plastic utensils ever since. In 2022, this project has gone school-wide with the joint-participation from our primary division. Due to the Covid-19 SOP, our food needs to be packed; our students and teachers not only bring our own utensils but also bring our own containers to get our food from the canteen. We are glad to have a supportive canteen operator who rewards the students with lovely incentives for their SDG efforts.
Turning visions into project and turning values into practice, we hope that conserving environment does not remains as just another SDG effort on paper but become a part of our students’ personal lifestyle.
